I expecting just a blood test at the Thursday doctors appointment at the
regular doctor and then to be referred to an OB. However the day went a
little differently. Derek and I arrived at the office to find out that I
had to redo a bunch of paperwork because while living in Wisconsin I
fell out of the system. Then when they finally called my name they
wanted to do a pee test. I was very confused because I had already taken
two of my own tests. But it was explained that the test that they do at
the doctors office was more advanced.
After the pee test I thought that the regular doctors would do a blood
test as well. Instead it was just 'congrats! Now go pick an OB!'
Flustered and excited, we headed home and called an OB. We where very fortunate to be able to get an appointment that same day.
At the OB I had another pee test! Luckily being pregnant, I haven't had
any shortages of pee!! And then a blood test where I did my best to stay
calm because I know that my emotions affect you, my little baby. Then
we went into a room and got to chat with the OB. She had much
information for us and I did my best to pay attention but my head was
still floating in the clouds! Finally she did a brief exam to make sure
everything was okay for me and you! Everything was good and she guessed
that I was about 4-6 weeks along and she said my due date would be
around April 7th. An ultra sound was scheduled to try and determine the
exact due date.
Derek and I decided that we would wait until after the ultrasound to share the big news!
