Halloween

We got to do some trick or treating baby! :) I'm sure you enjoyed it because you where moving a ton!

Yesterday we went to the mall and wow where there a lot of people there!! Patty, Tonya, and myself all had a lot of fun corralling your cousins (Roberto and Sam) and good friends (Emily, Abby, and Lizy). You where the best behaved kid in the group!

Then tonight we went to a retirement home with Tonya and your cousins. Then we did some walking around town. Not too much because we all started getting tired!

Sorry, not much candy for you this year to eat baby, but I promise there are plenty of trick or treats to come! Maybe we can even get daddy in a costume!

Morning Fun!

So this morning I have had a few moments of almost throwing up! When the alarm first went off I had to quickly drink some water. Then in the kitchen trying to get breakfast I gagged a little so I drank some more water. Next in the middle of breakfast I had to pause and just sit still and hope for the best. And just a bit ago I was drinking some milk and the nausea hit me!

Some mornings milk makes me sick and some mornings it doesn't! Oh the randomness of pregnancy!

Besides that I'm tired, but no time to nap today. My allergies are acting up but that is my fault because I forgot to take a Zyrtec last night. I have taken one now so I think I'll be ok. Now if I could just finish this glass of milk so I don't have to waste it.

Flutters in the Night

The past couple of nights I have felt you moving. Not distinct kicks, because it is still to early for that. I have heard it referred to as 'flutters' and I guess that is the best way to describe it. The feeling is like a tingly twitch that I feel inside. I cannot feel it at the surface if I put my hand there. It is a sensation that I have never felt before. You seem to move a lot when I first lay down for bed at night. I guess you got that trait from me, you and I both just need to fidget a lot before falling asleep! Well lil baby, whatever your reason for moving so much you can continue do to so as much as you want! It's crazy to think that we are already 16 weeks along! Keep up all the good growing lil baby, mommy and daddy love you so much!

Is it Bedtime Yet?

Today has been an overly tired day! Last night I kept waking up due to being uncomfortable and my brain kept saying, "just roll over and try to get comfy...I'm sure the alarm will go off soon and you can just get up and not worry about being uncomfy." But it didn't go off, so I would fall back to sleep and repeat the cycle over and over.
So I woke up feeling tired and ill (headache, unsettled stomach, ear pain, sore leg) and all I wanted to do was sit down. However Derek did not have a lunch packed so I helped him look for items for lunch. We gave up and he decided that he was just going to buy lunch out. We got breakfast and where able to relax on the couch for a few minutes.
Derek left and I did my best to stay awake but I felt so tired. So I took a nap on couch for an hour and a half. I woke up at 8:30am and felt a little better, but now I feel tired again! I have had my daily dose of caffeine and I can't have anymore! I still have to work today from 3:30-9:30! Good grief!
Well I hope today goes well and goes by fast! Also, I hope tomorrow I'm less tired!!

Tummy Changes

So I have gotten to the point where I feel movements. No, I don't feel specific kicks or anything like that, but I feel shifts. Our lil baby seems very active and likes to shift from one side to the other. The baby doesn't dramatically shift a ton but sometimes I feel like the baby's a lil swimmer kicking off one side of the 'wall' and launching towards the other!

A couple of nights ago I was laying on my back and rubbing my tummy when I noticed a different between the two sides of my stomach. I lifted the blanket and sure enough my left side was 'fuller' looking than the right side! I got Derek's attention and he found it quite funny! Eventually the baby settled back in the middle, but it was quite amusing while it lasted!

A couple of times our lil baby would shift down and press on my bladder! Oh those fun moments! The first time the baby was stubborn and wouldn't move for almost an hour! Second time I rubbed my tummy a little and the baby moved within minutes!

I can't wait until lil baby starts doing the kicks that I'll be able to feel through my tummy so daddy can feel the kicks!

Growing Pains

I know that I'm only going to get bigger but I have hit the point where my abdominal muscles feel tight. I believe they have hit their maximum normal stretching capacity. So now begins the stretching! The human body is amazing during pregnancy! Now it doesn't always feel amazing, this stretching especially. This duel, persistent tension. I keep using the word 'odd' but honestly it's the best way to describe these changes. They aren't bad, just odd and new. I'm sure my second pregnancy I will have a lot less to write about!

Also, due to increase in size, I had to purchase a new bra. Yes, it is the worse thing to shop for. I would suggest to just shop clearance if it's in the first half of your pregnancy because your breasts may still grow in the second half.

Also, I have developed a lack of energy which makes it quite difficult to accomplish things! I still do my best to power through my endless list of things to do, but I just get tired.

I am so anxious for my next OB appointment on Nov. 15th because at that appoint the doctor will be scheduling the ultrasound to find out the sex of our precious baby!

Hello tummy, goodbye normal walk!

The past few days I have just been fascinated by the size of my tummy. Lil baby you are only 14 weeks old but you have made plenty of room for yourself! I have gained a healthy amount of weigh, not to much, not to little. I was worried because my job keeps me power walking all day so I feared that I would have an issue gaining weight.

One of the weirdest changes I have had is for some reason eating vegetables makes me gag!?! Even veggies that I like normally I can hardly tolerate! So I have been drinking a lot of V8 fruit and veggie fusion juice.

I am trying to lotion a lot to cut down on the stretch marks and it's like a nice massage on my tense tummy.

The past few mornings I have been waking up really stuffy! Then for the next couple hours after waking up it's tons of sneezing and blowing my nose. Then suddenly I'm fine! I am taking a Zyrtec daily and I couldn't imagine how horrid my allergies would be without it!

The difference in my mornings is nice. During my first trimester all of my mornings where spent curled up in a ball on the couch dealing with morning sickness. Now in my second trimester way less nausea but instead I'm just extremely tired every morning! It takes forever for me to feel awake!! Oh well I get some down time in the morning!

I have started to walk a bit differently I'm guessing because my abdominal muscles are stretching so it affects how I walk. It really doesn't bother me at all. I find it kind of cute because I know it's all for the baby!

Thursday- October 11th, 2012

Today I had an OB appointment at 3pm. It started out normal, check in, weigh in, etc. Then I asked about getting a flu shot. Thankfully the office had them in so I was able to get one!

Then the best part! We got to listen to our little baby's heart beat!! It was wonderful!! The beats came through strong and clear! I would have listened to it for hours if I could have!

My next OB is scheduled for November 15th and at that OB they will schedule my ultrasound appointment to find out the sex of the baby!!!

Thursday- October 4th, 2012

So many symptoms so little time! A woman is pregnant roughly 9 months, but could experience hundreds of symptoms/issues/body changes within those nine months and even some after having the baby!

Today has been full of muscle aches and heartburn! Sorry if this is TMI but my breasts are killing me!! Seriously?!?! A sudden stabbing pain that's so bad it almost makes me vomit?! Oh pregnancy is a beautiful thing! Also I discovered that wearing an underwire bra makes it worse!

I don't understand the heartburn deal! You see I don't eat spicy foods or drink caffeine because I will get sick if I do. So why do I get heartburn? I have heard it said that if you get a lot of heartburn when pregnant it means your baby has a full head of hair! Well we shall see if it's true come April!

As far as the muscle aches I awoke with lower back pain. Shortly after breakfast my upper abdominal muscles started hurting. Then I developed a random muscle knot by the bottom of my right shoulder blade. Now, a bit of all of those plus breast pain. I will say that after a warm shower and Jergens aloe lotion, I do feel a lot better!

I know is that this little baby will be all worth it! It is impossible to express my gratitude to God for finding me fit to be a mother!

Dear S.

Ever since this pregnancy I have been thinking a lot about you. There is no doubt in my mind that you where a guiding light sent by God to make sure Derek and I's paths crossed. I feel so close to you these days and I know that you are this baby's guardian angel. Thank you so much for raising a wonderful daughter who will reflect you and be a perfect grandmother. Please be with this child always, especially in the moments when we cannot. God is good and I know He will allow you to continue to be a part of this family.

With love and gratitude,
Chrissy

Potty Breaks and Pregnancy

WARNING: not a super pleasant post but I want to record my thoughts/feelings/actions during pregnancy accurately.

Everyone always says that pregnant ladies have to pee more frequently. I jus never expected it to be as much as it has been!
I have had moments where I will go to the restroom and less than 10 minutes later it will feel like I haven't gone for hours!! Like today....in the car on a 6 hour drive!! I felt so bad for Derek! We had hit the rest stop and where quickly back on the road when within a few minutes I felt like I had to go again. I tried to shift in my seat to get rid of the feeling because I really didn't want to ask to stop again. Finally I sucked it up and told Derek I would need another bathroom stop! The problem came when we couldn't find a stop for almost 30 minutes. I was never so happy to see that blue rest stop sign!!

Everyone is told about peeing a lot but it's rarely mentioned that pregnancy can affect your bowel movements!

I am not for sure why I thought it wouldn't. Maybe I just never really thought about it until it started happening. I mean think about it: hen you are pregnant you 1) eat more and 2) are slowly loosing room inside of you due to the baby. So it makes sense that you would end up with more BM's.

Now every pregnancy is different, so much so that some women actually suffer from bad constipation. My body gets super full before it allows me to go. Having a good BM during pregnancy is one of the greatest feelings ever!
